I have a 2018 F250. I have the Morimoto headlights. I want to hook the daytime running lights to the upfitter switches. There is only 1 red wire. Do I have to ground it somehow or is it ok to hook the wire directly to the upfitter wire with no ground?
Do those headlights have a separate DRL in them?
Otherwise, I would think you may get a backfeed from running a new power supply into the headlight circuit, could screw things up.
If the DRL is a separate light, then just run the upfitter wire to the hot lead you found, but it needs to be separated from the rest of the light harness.

Yes, you can do that. I have a 2017 F250 that I was having all sorts of problems with my Morimoto DRL going to the fuse block, so I just hooked that single wire to aux 3 and haven’t had a problem since then.
