Random shutdown/restart while driving

So yesterday I was driving home and all of a sudden the truck had no throttle like it stalled I tried restarting while rolling and the start didn't engage like it was still running went to pull off on the side of the road and the motor roared back to life. Revved it a little and all was good. Went and took off again and it lost all forward momentum again and no throttle response in the motor went to pull over and it came back to life. Has anyone experienced this before. The truck is a 2005 v10 with little less than 190k on the dash.

That sounds like a likely fuel pressure issue. Has the fuel pump ever been changed?

I my case, I resolved it by replacing both cam and crank sensors. Exactly the same issues. When I replaced the cam sensor, the issue 'almost' disapeared. It changed from a daily annoyance to a once a week, sometimes a month. After replacing the crank sensor, its gone for over a year.

Before changing those sensors, I did go the fuel system rout, from pump all the way to injectors, replaced all ignition system (I did have one faulty coil), all those things overdue anyway in a car that age.
The cam and crank sensors costed less than $100, and actually fixed my stalling issue.
Some users also reported other causes they fixed: Faulty TPS, faulty MAF, Water intrusion in the fuse box, loose wiring loom near the ECU, shorted wires in ECU, even a defective ECU.

Most of the time the OPs issues relate to a fuel pump that is on its last leg and loosing pressure when the load is higher, the pumps will sometimes just get weak instead of failing outright, and send you replacing god knows everything trying to find the problem.

Before you blow parts out the wazoo, put a fuel pressure gauge on it, and if the pressure looks ok idling, prop the fuel pressure gauge under the windshield wiper and take it for a drive and make the problem occur, if the fuel pressure drops suddenly when the problem occurs, well you have your culprit, replace the pump and move on, if the fuel pressure is strong the whole time, at least you didn't waste any money throwing parts at it yet.

But I would bet its the fuel pump, happened to 3 of my fords now this exact way.

Also, if it is the pump, don't cheap out, get a motorcraft pump if at all possible, they last the longest, cheap amazon crap will need replaced soon, and dorman is not a reputable parts company either.
