Lead acid batteries will self-drain after a 4-8 weeks, depending. The process is slower in cold weather, but it still happens. If possible, put a trickle charger on it, or remove it from the vehicle and take it to your garage or basement where you can trickle charge it.
First it's 2K miles away and I won't leave anything plugged in while we are gone for a long period. If a lead acid battery is in good shape it will not self drain in 4 to 8 weeks but will settle back to 4.5 to 4.6 volts I've also left my Optima AGM batteries disconnected in our trailer for months and they also don't self drain. For the last 15 years I have left the wet cell batteries in our car, boat and now sold 03 F150 disconnected setting in unheated buildings with only one dead batteries and that was one that was over 5 years old from Walmart that only came with a 1 year warranty. I do expected my boat battery to be dead in the spring but it was dieing a slow death all summer because of a bad cell.
My 2020 F150 is the first vehicle I've owned with a BMS and when we put it in storage for the winter (6.5 months)the he battery was fully charged and completely disconnected and will be until the 3rd week in April. Will I have to do anything special when I put it back in service, I've always just hook up the battery and drive it on my past trucks and car.

No, it's the same battery. Use the proper type of charger to bring it up to 100% before you reconnect the battery though.
