I would like your opinion if anyone has ever used one of these maintenance chargers that is supposed to desulphenate (probably spelled wrong) the battery as it charges through some sort of pulses.
They claim the sulphure buildup is the leading cause of batteries failing.
Any insite or experience using these would be appreciated.
I just returned one of those "trickle" chargers to harbor freight. It did not work at all.
Left it on a new boat battery for a month.....came back and the battery was half full.
It was charged to full when I first left it.
I use the $6 HF battery float (not trickle) charger and it works like a charm. It keeps my camper battery in excellent shape all winter. Dont use it on an already discharged battery, but one that in a healthy state. It wont bring back a dead battery.
Thanks for the input on the chargers. I ordered one today that is supposed to keep the sulfur from accumulating on the plates making the battery last longer. We'll see, and I'll let you know in time if it works.

I use float chargers for the boat in the winter and in the ATV shed, but the charger I have with a de-S program is actually quite larger and much more expensive.
