battery

when should u change the maintenance free batteries? i have 68,200 miles on my truck and its still crankin..

When it stops crankin'! Not trying to be smart but I wouldn't worry about it if it still starts well. If you are concerned about getting stalled somewhere, go and have your battery load tested. Any battery shop can do this.

1998 original battery

i have 112,ooo on my 98 sup-cab 4x4 in michigan , original battery still going strong.
i can't hardly believe it myself

Just keep the terminals and wires clean and free of moisture, and crank it until it croaks...

I had a maintenance free in my old Toyota that is now 13 years old. I finally replaced it when the hydrometer glass broke. It still works though. I have it running our wood chipper. I don't know how it's lasted this long.

"maintenance free" isn't exactly true.....

one should check the fluid level in these batteries every 30,000 miles or so. You'll extend the life of the battery considerably.

I really think they should be called "low maintenance" batteries.
