Thanks guys. I just checked my order. It doesn't show shipped as yet, but that really doesn't mean anything if no one has updated the order. The company that sells it shows to be out of Phoenix Arizona. So I hope it will be here sooner than later. I will check on it again in 24 hours before I start to panic.
I went out and my truck fired right away this evening. HOP system came up to pressure in less than two seconds. Ran smooth as silk. I shut it down after about ten seconds as it's not fully back together yet. Odd. B.
Just a thought...you might have a touch of 6.0 Owner Syndrome. I got it bad. Paranoia, delusions, anxiety attacks. These buses of mine are the worst. Just drove mine again today for the first time in a couple of weeks - every time I go through the same stages: the buses vibrate so much that it really feels like the engine missing out. Because they're so slow and heavy, it's not like I can just floor it a few times and confirm that all is well - it'll just blow some black smoke because it's not capable of handing that much fuel. Which just increases the paranoia. I always end up firing up Torque Pro, checking all my PIDs and running a code check. When it's clean, the anxiety eases a bit, and I focus real hard to differentiate the engine from all the other noise and finally relax. Or, I make it up on the highway where the bus doesn't vibrate as much and I'm driving a constant speed long enough that I can distinguish the engine sound.
The 08 bus is even worse - it has that Temla driveshaft brake system, which has its own little vibration and noise, and it does this thing when you hit the brakes for a sec and then accelerate again, the Temla doesn't react that quickly; it's still braking even though my foot's off the brake and on the pedal, but you don't accelerate. Then, Temla turns off and you take off. Feels like the tranny is hosed up.
I'm thinking those mushrooms Oregon legalized might be therapeutic for us.
test your battery's mine was doing the very same no dtc checked everything but the battery's. i even had it on a charger overnite. it would turn over turn over nothing. took batterys out had them tested they where cooked. got new ones put in it fired up. so 500 later a lot of cusing teardowns it was staring me in the face. also all my lights where working fine ' they just didnt have the power to to run everything in order to fire.id check them before doing anything else.
Installed the new crank position sensor today. Inspected the harness where it goes down behind the A/C compressor and all was good. I had already replaced the pigtail connector earlier this year. But I just wanted to double check it. She still fired right up as though nothing was wrong. Put everything back together and took her for a test drive. Seems normal. I just wished I had figured out the problem before she start running again. Keeping my fingers crossed. B
Yeah, when I did the top end at the first of the year, The insulation on the wires at the connector was cracked and peeling off. So I did the connector pigtail at that time. I just wanted to confirm there were no further issues this time around to be safe. It's not easy getting too with the A/C compressor bolted in. I suspect it was the crank sensor but was not able to fully diagnose the problem before it magically started running again. B.
Mine was intermittent for quite awhile would never act up long enough to diagnose. then one morning wouldn’t crank at all. Hope it stays running. I’m thinking doing a complete engine wiring harness. But dang that doesn’t look fun. Lol. Good luck
Thanks firedaniel. the problem with the main engine harness is availability. And of course that darn crank shaft position sensor connector buried behind the A/C compressor. I drove mine today with not one hiccup. As soon as I get the adapter for Forscan, I will run the numbers again and post them up. It should be here on Friday. So maybe this weekend. B.
P.S.
Here are several pics of the ICP connector, The new one is on the left and the old one is, well, on the right. Not sure if that was part of the problem. I changed the ICP sensor also. B.
