My stock radiator is starting to leak at a seam, so I'm looking for a good replacement that isnt a gazillion dollars! I see Rock Auto has 2 of them around $225 to $250 which is fine with me, but looking on the internet some ger very pricey! I've seen upwards of $600 to $700. I want a good replacement, what have you guys used? I want something good, I see 1Aauto has one for around $250 too, any good?
When do you want it? I ask because if you order it online the first 5 or 6 you get will be damaged by the carrier. Is the seam between the plastic and the aluminum? If so, you may get a radiator shop to re-crimp it. Or, if it's in the plastic itself, you can order upper and lower tanks and get a shop to replace them for you.
Buy once cry once is my motto. Performance radiator 2944
The same rad that BPD offers but you can get it direct. As commieCars mentioned, you will have a few damaged especially by UPS. My first two looked like the baggage handlers from an airline loaded it.
The 3rd had superficial damage and was usable. That piece was delivered by DHL after performance radiator had to take 2 back.
I've had good luck with stuff from RockAuto. But, if you are that concerned about the shipping, just go to your local Ford dealer and order direct from them. B.
I never thought about issues with shipping before, I use Rock Auto alot, just didnt know what other options are out there for radiators that wont bend me over!? I've bought alot of larger heavy stuff that's been shipped and havent had a problem, yet? Was just asking for other alternatives. Thank you!
I bought a Motorcraft from White Bear Lake several years ago, came UPS and was in perfect shape. I have heard they quit shipping them since then. Around here, FedEx does a better job at delivering boxes undamaged.

My local Ford dealer has always had the radiator I need in stock and there is a core charge/refund for my old one.

As Jack pointed out to me, Rockauto sells the stock radiator for a reasonable price of $342. That's the way I'll go as I haven't heard of any aftermarkets that have the fins/inch & flow channels as the stock one. I run my truck hard towing during the summer and want as much radiator as possible.
My performance rad does what it should do. I had an early mishimoto and it was junk, didnt cool well at all, but i cant comment on the newer one. The ipr big one is very tempting though.
