I think the difference was the gasket.. the old one was not flat.. it had a bit of a angle to it.. if i remember correctly.. the A is a flat gasket..
I fill it to top and that soaks down to like 1/2 and put some clean oil on gasket as well. I take a rag adn clean teh underside of the mount getting it all clean,, run the filter up by hand till it hit the mount then a 1/2 turn,, loosen and re tighten to hand tight, back it off and re tighten to hand tight with one hand much as i can turn it without going Hulk on it. that usually is no leak and able to double hand remove next time.. also put date and miles at change on bottom.. then mark my oil change tag on windshield with 5K for next change.
that is a lot of mile on these engines.. have you done UOA after the 14K and compare to one of like 5K?? that would be a nifty experiment to see if the amsoil and wix are that good.
