Unhappy Keyless entry code

Just bought an '01 f150 lariat supercrew, and the hubby took it to work to show it off. One of the guys walked up to him, told him he knew how to get into the locked truck, entered a number on the keypad (told my hubby this was the truck's code) and got in! He didn't look anywhere, didn't look under the hood or inside the truck. It was locked up! He just punched it in. He told my hubby that there is a way to tell the code of the vehicle, and for $25 he would tell my hubby how. Is this true? How did he get the code? Is he pulling our leg? was he just lucky?? Anyone have a clue?

Goin' to the beach today-

Are you positive that this guy wasn't able to enter the truck for even a few seconds without being noticed?

Two ways to find the code:

1. A plastic card in the owner's manual packet that has the code.

2. The code is printed on a paper sticker affixed to an electronic box located under the dashboard. The box is up under the dash near the parking brake assembly.

$25? What a scam. This is a co worker trying to rip him?

My husband is the "boss" at work, so of course, no one likes him, lol!!!
We bought the truck off ebay, and picked it up in Houston. Seriously doubt that anyone had seen it before. This guy INSISTS there is a way to punch in the code- just didn't want to be suckered for $25!

anyway, maybe someone might know how this guy knew the code!

just reprogram the code, and tell your husband to schedule that smartass to work on Thanksgiving AND Christmas! if he complains, your hubby can tell him that for $50, he can let him off!

Barring a hardware change you can't get rid of the original code. You can add an additional code by keying in the first code, pressing the [1|2] button, then keying in the additional 5 digit code.

I'd have to say that it would be pretty fool-hardy for Ford to make if possible to determine the access code from outside the truck. Proffessional thieves would learn of this immediately, and the law suites would come rolling in. I can't think of a single reason that anybody would consider such an external marking a good idea.

An equally unlikely possibility is the existance of a "master code" for use by the dealer or locksmiths. This too would be easily learned by proffessional thieves.

Almost certainly this guy has either watched your husband enter the code, or has had a few un-attended moments alone in the truck and checked the sticker under the dash.
