damn. I see what you’re saying. I’d much rather have a regular key, and a separate fob.
interested to see the fob for keyless.
I get all the post that simple is better. I’d made my mind up I was fine with a key. Both my jeep and Silverado have keyless, and it’s pretty nice too.
I wonder if you can get a standard key as a spare from Ford?

Keyless fob. It's not small either, just under 3/4" thick, and 1-9/16" wide.
This is my first keyless entry, push button vehicle and I have no issue managing the fob. And as for simplicity, those who are shopping a Lariat and up, usually aren't focused on simplicity but rather comfort and convenience.
I've had 2 vehicles with Keyless and I actually hate it. Why because the fobs are so big you still need to take the keys out of your pocket while driving anyway or you'll have them jammed into your ***** while driving. Then you have to have a place for them to just sit there in the truck. I also got too used to them that I sometimes would leave them in the car because the MEMORY of turning a key and having them in your hand to shut off vehicle was now a missing step that I would just turn off vehicle and get off.
In regards to those that say they don't want these new fangled electronics, they just want a simple keyed ignition; is it even a true mechanical cylinder anymore, or is it just simply a switch you twist and it sends a signal to the computer to start/run?

it is not a mechanical switch. It is literally a pushbutton that you "push" with a quick twist from a key.
IIRC, there is a way to convert to keyless somehow?
I'd bet there was, because the way my keyed ford starts.
Just turn it really quick and don't hold it like you would a mechanical cylinder car when starting. All the programming is in there for keyless already.
I always laugh at this line, as I sit here in the third world. 2 presidents ago, our president declared the Philippines to have moved up to the second world and I was wondering when we'd moved up to the third world. Hahahaha
IMO, you Will be very disappointed in the OEM soft drop tail gate. I ordered 2, and both did not work. It just made it very hard to close, and did absolutely nothing to soften the drop. At first I thought I installed the shock upside down, but tried both ways, and it did the same thing. The first one I ordered was an after market close. Didn't work. The second was a much more expensive OEM shock. Same thing, didn't work. So I finally ordered the DEE-Zee system. Works beautifully, and don't realy notice it. It's what I had on my f-0250, and I should have just stuck to that for my new 350. Thought you'd like to know.
All my current vehicles have push button start. I’m spoiled by my 2015. Lexus FOB. which I keep in my wallet. It’s the size of a credit card and about twice as thick. In the 7 years I’ve owned it I’ve changed the very thin battery twice.
I don’t like the bulky Ford and Nissan keyless entry push button FOBs. I wish Ford would use iPhone app instead of FOBs. The technology is there.
I really didn’t like having to use a key to start our F150 XLT.
heres the Lexus Credit card fob that is always in my wallet.
