I picked up my truck a few days ago and was handed a set of actual keys when I did. It's an F-350 Lariat Tremor with the preferred equipment, black appearance, and Lariat value packages. I ordered in March and info on the 22's was limited, but per my salesman push button start was standard on all versions. Lariat on up. He even made the comment when delivering it to me that he thought it should be keyless. Am I wrong (wouldn't be the first time) or did something change?

I guess I'm old school, I hate the keyless start on our Odyssey. It seems someone is always trying to locate the keys when we get out or a set gets left inside and it beeps at us. The key/fob on my 2017 F250 never bothered me and it never even crossed my mind about sticking out too far. To me it's just one more thing to go wrong on an already gizmo filled vehicle.

Yes, as crazy as it sounds buying an $70,000+ truck. The Lariat Ultimate package is required, the Lariat Value does not include push button start.
Thanks, and as usual I was wrong. But on my behalf so was my salesman. Keyless was never a big deal to me until I actually had it. You get spoiled never having to reach into your pockets.
You will HATE how the key sticks out so far. It utterly pisses me off that I have to LOOK to put the damn key in because of the fob thing.
I'm still trying to figure out how to take it off and use it like old set of keys where the fob hangs down not attached to the key itself... but I'm afraid of breaking it.
We sold our 2017 F-350 XLT Premium in 2018 and ordered a 2019 F-350 Lariat Ultimate. Push button start was a specific item on our long list of upgrades.

Salesmen usually are...I've never understood why guys selling $50,000+ merchandise dont know their product inside and out and sideways.
I really never used to think it was a big deal, but it's honestly bugging the crap out of me. I was also expecting a soft drop tailgate which it doesn't have, but that's an easy retro-fit and I already ordered the OEM damper. No real fix for keyless though, and I'm not willing to sell a brand new truck which I really like over the fact it doesn't have it. My wife's $32,000 Rav4 is keyless but my nearly $80,000 truck isn't. Frustrating.

I definitely have to agree with you that simple is almost always better. Electronic items are usually the first to fail on a mechanical piece of equipment. I think the reason it bothers me most is that I was expecting keyless. If the salesman had told me "your version comes with a key and it will cost you an extra 2K to get keyless" I would've said no thanks.

I understand you there. I agree with the previous post about salesman not knowing anything about what they sell. I really don't even understand their role other than being being a middle man between the customer and the sales manager.
Salesman don't make the effort to educate themselves.
I did an enormous amount of research while waiting on my truck to arrive and apon arrival, I the consumer was the one doing the walk through and explaining the various features to the salesman.
Back on topic.......as an older gentleman, I want the key in my pocket or in the ignition.
Aren't keyless/push button start vehicles easy to steal? I watched a video where a guy with a Tacoma (or maybe it was a Tundra) got his truck stolen because it was keyless. Thieves are using a signal booster to make the vehicle think the keys are nearby, then they jump in, push the start button and drive off. Easy-peasy. Does Ford have a way around this? If not, no keyless entry and start for me until this problem is resolved.
Dealerships and salesmen are only there for transactional purposes. If you ever go into a dealership expecting to learn anything, from prices to features, then you sort of already lost. Salesmen represent a few different brands (Ford/Lincoln) that each have several different vehicle models that all have different trims, packages, and features ... and those change a bit each year. And, they're not hiring salesmen out of Princeton and Yale. So, if you're going in to learn specific information about the details of a specific vehicle, then you're really misreading the scenario and setting yourself up for failure.
