I've had 2 vehicles with Keyless and I actually hate it. Why because the fobs are so big you still need to take the keys out of your pocket while driving anyway or you'll have them jammed into your ***** while driving. Then you have to have a place for them to just sit there in the truck. I also got too used to them that I sometimes would leave them in the car because the MEMORY of turning a key and having them in your hand to shut off vehicle was now a missing step that I would just turn off vehicle and get off.

Imo, keyless is the bees knees and Ford is screwing up big time not getting with it.

I've been keyless since 2013 and it's better than sliced bread, but now I have to have a goofy key on my potentially new $52k truck?

I've never had a keyless entry/start vehicle, so harder to miss something you've never had.
The thing that worries me as much as anything is the unlock code buttons on the door, just seems like something that idiots will be messing with on my truck when it is sitting in a walmart parking lot or something.

I wouldn't worry about that. They've been around for many years.

You could get a blank key to place in the fob. Then put a ring through the real key and the blank one that is inside the fob. Now it will relax like the older style fobs did.

I really like the keyless start. My wife's 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe is a low level model and requires a key. Bugs me every time I have to drive it. What? You mean I have to actually insert a key?

One great reason for keyless is that the keys, key fob, key chain, etc are no longer swinging like a pendulum when I'm on rough roads.

Lol. My fob has a button that you have to push in to release the physical key. If you don’t want the fob up near the steering column I suppose you could leave that part in your pocket. (Not sure the truck would start though,)

yes there is a button but the key doesn't come all the way out. It is on a hinge of some sort. I just want to take the key totally off the fob and put them both on a ring

You might be able to just have a key made without the fob. Check locksmiths and hardware stores in your area.

You don’t have to have a key on your $52K truck.
All you have to do is upgrade to an almost $80K plus truck and your problem will be solved.

Aaaaaah I understand now. I had this on my Volkswagens. I think they had a roll pin in the hinge. Might be easiest to have a blank key cut for 20 bucks and put that on the ring with the Ford switchblade.

Because all they care about is getting you and every other customer in front of the finance manager so they can move on to the next person.

The days of a salesperson knowing everything about every model are over and it’s been this way for quite awhile now.

Thanks to the internet, consumers are usually more knowledgeable than actual sales reps.
