Same for me. I used to be GM loyal but now days when your spending 50 + grand on a truck I try to find exactly what I want and need. I also research the latest trucks at the time and started to actually research them. Ford right now had the design I loved, the engine I feel is GREAT for my needs and reliability.
I've had GMC, Chevy, Jeep, Toyotas, Nissans. All of them have been actually great except the JEEP brand which is why I won't get a Ram at this point in time.
Man, don't say that... My wife just had to have a Jeep. I gave in, there is a 2021 Rubicon in the garage. I hope it turns out to be a decent vehicle. Ford blew the Bronco release BAD. It will be a couple years before a guy can get his hands on one for a decent price I suspect.
What that leaves out though is how the MC backseat reclines quite a bit due to the space BEHIND the seat. That's what makes them more comfortable.
Now you have to care about your rear seat passengers comfort of course for that to be a purchasing concern. I wouldn't buy one because of it.
So you can recline, what about the 3" of front legroom the front passengers loose? How about the still missing rear legroom? The fold flat seats are the true win, something Ford could have implemented.

Mine was a 2018 so it was first model year for the new JL design. The transmission is great (auto) and I loved the power it had. It really was good. But the damn thing couldn't drive in a straight line, then one morning the instrument cluster just died out after only 15k miles. It let me drive lol but I had not instrumentation. Then my transmission started to delay when going into reverse. And last but not least the stupid secondary battery would not charge causing my start stop to not work which was fine lol cuz I hate that feature. I even had a blog on my jeep because it really was fun to modify. I was one of the early pioneers to put power locks on the JL wrangler. http://myjlproject.com
Nope.....I would never own a dodge. The only truck they made that was tempting is the power wagon....the tremor makes that a none issue now.
I bought a then new 2015 Power Wagon, don't believe the hype. That was one of the worst trucks I ever owned. Fit and finish was garbage, transmission shifted way more than the Ford 6 speed, 6.4 doesn't feel as powerful as the 6.2, electronics thwarted the supposed off road prowess, couldn't safely haul more than 1500 lbs in the bed. I wanted to like it initially, it was traded off after one year. The Tremor is certainly a MUCH better choice.
I have to wonder why they still offer the Mega Cab? Both Ford and GM offer crew cabs that have more space. Even the current ( Non Classic) Ram 1500 offers more space in the cab. A Ram HD CCLB is only 6inches longer then a Ford SD CCSB bumper to bumper.
i really don't believe this could be true. Are you sure?

Unless you are driving around giants they are fine. I've been in the front of them and never had an issue, granted I'm only 5'11". But I know at least one guy that is 6'2 and sits in the front pass seat when his wife drives and doesn't have any complaints about it at all either.
I'm sure with the right height combined with short torso height someone out there hates losing that 3".
I looked long and hard at the RAM trucks. I have a friend that owns a Chrysler/Honda dealership and know most of the employees from buying Honda's there. My ordering an F350 is going to make a lot of friends scowl. My exhaustive and compulsive investigation leaves me to believe RAM trucks are in 3rd place when it comes to the heavy duty gas powered trucks. Ford has the best gas engine/tranny combination. Chevy is not too far behind and the RAM heavy duty gas is in 3rd place and getting lapped. The RAM 2500 does ride like a Cadillac and has about as much payload with it's coil suspension. I find the RAM styling to be gaudy and cheap looking. And living in rust country its easy to see that they rust out at about twice the speed of Ford or Chevy. I readily admit I am biased by the fact that when I was growing up in the 70's and 80"s Dodge trucks were a joke. Just about nobody drove one as they were decades behind on everything and ugly as all heck. They managed to sell a few because they could be had for several thousand dollars less than a good used Ford.
Looking at your average 5 year old 100k miles pickup here in Wisconsin, the Ram trucks are well ahead in the race to convert body panels to iron oxide.
Chevrolet/GMC run second, but still 3 or 4 years behind the superior corrosion forming abilities of the Ram trucks.
How do you figure? The Mega Cab is the smallest of the big 3 and the RAM crew cab is nearly the size of a GM double cab and Ford supercab. The numbers don't lie, there is not a single measurement of the rear portion of a mega cab that is mega. The front of the cab also lacks 3" of legroom compared to its competitors.

I posted the specs for a reason, you don't have to believe. You just have to be able to compare. The new generation RAM 1500 is the leader in rear cab space and hopefully it goes on to the HD trucks.
