This is just incorrect, the mega cab is larger inside than the current Ford or gm cabs, not by a lot but it is bigger.
.
How do you figure? The Mega Cab is the smallest of the big 3 and the RAM crew cab is nearly the size of a GM double cab and Ford supercab. The numbers don't lie, there is not a single measurement of the rear portion of a mega cab that is mega. The front of the cab also lacks 3" of legroom compared to its competitors.
Been driving new Super Duty's since 2017. Currently have a 2019 F350 with a 6.7.
Took a drive today and test drove a new Ram 2500 Mega Cab. All I can say is WOW!!!!
What a nice ride. Made me really think about what my next truck is going to be.
Anyone have a comments? Either way?
A 2500 RAM will be the best riding HD on the market. Either with the coils or full air rear suspension. The 3500 RAM is by far the worst ride in the HD market. Check the CCC and if it's enough for you then yes, it's the best ride. It will be under 1,900 lbs. for a loaded truck though.
An 8 year difference in trucks is substantial. Just because your current truck is nicer than your 8 year old truck, doesn't mean the current 2500/3500 isn't comparable to the current 250/350.
It's called an opinion and for your information I have been in the new rams and driven them and yes they are nice. My close friend just got a 21 Power Wagon and it is spectacular, however I stand by my statement plus I don't recall asking for your approval... my response was to the OP.
I have test drove hd/sd trucks from the big 3 recently. I test drove another f350 7.3 lariat cc sb today again and was still disappointed. Any version of the Chevy/GMC (srw or Drw) rides better than the other 2. Also, on the 3500hd there are 3 upper overload springs and only 1 on the Ford. I plan on hauling heavy weight so the Chevy/GMC won't need as many mods or any. Here is my ranking of them as far as quality of the ride goes:
1. Chevy/GMC2. Fiat3. Ford
A lot of quality control issue with Chevy so be careful. Maybe you won’t get a serious one. I looked at Chevy too but after reading and conferring with owners the issues, Ford it was.
I came from a ‘06, ‘07, and ‘16 Dodge/Ram. The 06 and 07 were much better trucks than the 2016 I had. Emissions issues at 8k miles, windows rattled, dead pedal and torque management made it nearly undriveable.
If I could trade my current F350 back for my ‘06 5.9L manual…I’d do it today.
Truth is, these new trucks are just too advanced for my needs and likes.

I am currently in a 2018 RAM 3500 Laramie Longhorn dually, bought it new with no regrets. I actually like the Longhorn interior better than the King Ranch. Have the HO with the Aisin transmission, which works great for towing, but is a bit “clunky” for running around; and of course only a 6 speed. Which for some might be a game changer, but not for me. As for the previous comments about the stuff falling apart…….IDK, in this part of the world there are a lot of old Dodge/RAM trucks running around, Probably has more to do with how loose the nut behind the wheel gets! I.E. maintenance is everything, regardless of brand.
And in the forums I frequent, with the 2014 + model RAM I very seldom see any thing about the Death Wobble, can FoMoCo say the same for 2017+? It seems to me that since the 2017 re-make the Fords have gotten worse on this issue.
The last two Fords I had were 350 duallies, 2015 and a 2016. My RAM seems to have a little more positive feedback in the steering feel, but that may just be my opinion, IDK. Fords PSD V-8 makes it more of a “hotrod”…..seemed a little quicker, but either one has no trouble breaking the speed limit with an 18000 lb 5th wheel behind.
I like the way Ford does their transmission controls better than RAM, and Fords shifting strategy is better than RAM….IMO.
They both have their pluses and their minuses.

The review I saw by a RAM fan said to NOT get the 2500 unless you want to treat it like a half ton. The 2500 RAM has no payload capacity. About the same as aN F150.

Naw I see people using them for stuff a halfton wouldn't be able to even think of doing. It may have 2000ish or under payload but that doesn’t mean you cant fill up the crew cab with people, bed with tools, and pull a 12-14k trailer around all day.
Well, when I first got my RAM 2500 with the rear air suspension, I was expecting a big difference in ride from my 2012 F250, and I actually felt like the Ford rode a little better except over sharp bumps.
Interesting... I have a 2012 F250 and have driven it back to back with a 2018 Ram 2500 with air suspension dozens of times. The Ram rides worlds better in my opinion, not even close. My wife loves riding in the air suspended Ram says it rides like a cloud compared to my truck.
Of course after 100k miles of being a contractors truck the service air suspension light has been on for quite some time and the rear ride height seems a little wonky to me. I think he bent the height sensor bracket with tire chains one winter. I do like being able to raise and lower the rear end at the push of a button too, to hook up trailers, nice feature.
Let me keep it simple. In 2016 our son took our 2011 King Ranch and we bought A Ram Limited 2500 hunk of CRAP!!!. Arrived broken waited 3 months to get it. Went back in shop 5 times after that in first year. Went and ordered a 2017 Platinum then a 2020 Lariat now a 2022 Lariat. Any Questions?

Well, my ‘15 Ford King Ranch 350 DRW was in the shop at least 5 times in the year I had that. Last time I hauled it on my dime back to the dealer I bought it (With a RAM) Traded it for a ‘16 King Ranch 350 DRW that had no issues. I could say the same thing about Ford!
It is always best to hate ALL brands…….never be a fanboy for any one brand!
Looks like somebody is triggered lol 🤣🤣🤣. Did you attack the OP about his Ram comments too? The OP asked for opinions and I gave mine. I've noticed you attack others on here too.
I'm here because I actually thought about buying a Ford and wanted to learn more about them. But now that I've driven several (they ride terrible) and am aware of the recalls (transmission, rear axle) and issues specifically death wobble, Sync, offset steering wheel etc... I think I will pass.
then move on to your Ram forum. i don't get why non owners feel the need to give their two cents over and over even when they say they are buying another brand. Usually, when people figure out what they are going to buy, they don't continue to post on their "non choice" sites. Geeez Charlie Brown, shouldn't you go find some online friends that you have something in common with?
As for recalls, the difference between Ford and RAM? Ford proactively recalls and FCA (now Stellantis) has to be sued to do them. At any rate, is it really the best use of your time ranting here? Problaby not. Good luck with your RAM
