Thanks for all the info and links guys. I didn't think of building new but now that I see what you all sent... looks like i need to plan for a weekend in the shop.

The corrosion is expected since most of the harness is original. But after 22yrs and 358K on the clock....time to replace. I have always coated anything bare on the cables but it seems inevitable to happen anyway,.

I have a Terminal Crimper if you want to borrow it. I’m just down the road from you.

We have traveled nearly 8,000 miles since May, I am staying home for a bit sir! We have two spare rooms here though and I can make a mean burger or smoked pulled pork.

Seriously though, you do great! Just use quality wire, lugs, crimper, double wall adhesive lined heat shrink and wire loom were required. Measure 4 times, order what you need. Measure 4 times again before cutting and don't forget to put the heat shrink on before you crimp the lugs!

It is not hard at all and when you are done, you can take pride in saving money and knowing that the job was done right.

You can do all, some or none of that as you see fit. If you have a desire to go through any of that, now is the time my friend. My battery and charging system is very robust and that is the way I like it. I don't want to be 50 miles out in BLM land with no cell signal and a dead truck because of a $2 battery connection.

We are here, as a community to help you along the way if you need it.

I'm in the process of re-building my wiring harnesses. I changed the starter cable to 3/0, pass through cable to 1/0. Bought a Temco TH0005 and Temco wire on amazon. You can get lugs and the adhesive lined heatshrink as well. I still need to do the grounds. I would also advise to get military style battery terminals.
