1967 F100 Flatbed
)Today I made the trip to the paint supply store and picked up a few supplies including a gallon of epoxy primer. Came home and started sanding out the inside of the cab. I was very surprised by all the paint runs in the original paint that I never noticed until sanding inside the cab. Funny how much the factory was able to get away with. Anyway I was able to sand out the entire cab this afternoon and wipe it down with wax and grease remover. I'll hit it again tomorrow with another wipe down and then a tack cloth before spraying my first coats of epoxy primer.
Set up both fenders and one inner fender outside and sprayed them as well.
With a solid coat on everything I can see some spots that will need more attention but I feel a lot better with a number of the parts sealed up and protected.
That's awesome!! Nice work.
That truck is going to look better than new when you’re done. Very nice!
It really changes with the application of primer. Being all one even color shows off your prep, nice job!
I was hoping to scuff the other inner fender and spray it but the old paint wouldn't feather out, it just kept flaking when I tried to sand it. So I stripped it down to bare metal...
Happy to see that it's extremely solid and rust free. Also continued working on the radiator core support. Ground down the welds and also stripped the paint front and back

Wow, those inner fenders look amazing! I also have to say the core support came out really good.
core support still needs some body work around the welded in section but I'll get that done eventually.
I need to dig the doors out of storage and start on them next.
Looking good all primed up. Mine has been stuck in gray for a while. Just have to make it a few more weeks with my muley hunt and then hopefully some paint. What color are you painting the truck? I couldnt remember if you had mentioned it earlier or not. Again, the truck is coming along and looking good.
was keeping that to myself until I actually bought it. I made the trip to the local "House of Kolor" shop Monday and ordered up the paint. I'm going to two-tone the truck with a red pin stripe down the bump.(S2-BC03 Galaxy Gray) will be the top half of the truck (everything above the bump)
(S2-KBC11 Apple Red) will be the pin stripe
(S2-05 Lapis Blue FX) will be the bottom and the flat bed
I pulled the doors out of storage and cleaned them up and started assessing what will need to be fixed on each.
A few bumps a scratches with one rust spot that might need to be cut out.
This morning
I love this shot because there is a clear line where it was sticking out of the bucket and how much different it is.
These spacer washers are about the only thing that didn't change so I dropped them back in and will check them this afternoon.
Wish they made one big enough to throw a truck in.
When I consider how many of those pesky wire wheel bits I've had to pull outta the front of my body that method is looking increasingly tantalizing
This is exactly the reason plus all the hours and the aching back from hunching over the bench grinder... I was able to do all those parts in my sleep... literally
