I have a 02 cclb lariat and if I have the auto headlights on after a while the vsm relay will start rapidly turning on and off headlights. If you turn them to non auto they operate normally.

just a quick search to find one, but others will be along that have more experience then i do on this
I too have a 2002 F250 and have been living with the VSM disengaged by removing fuse 19, I think. This disable my auto door locks and key fob functions and possibly the radio. I’ll attach a pic showing where it is located behind the radio on the tranny tunnel up against the firewall.
Also, a VSM needs to be programmed by a dealer, I am pretty sure on that. But, I am enjoying some cold IPA's at a campground right now so I could be way off too.

I just found a place that said they can rebuild them
Well I thought I found a place to repair but sent it in twice and no change. Then they wanted to only refund part of my money.
it was on a credit card so I had to call cc company to get a refund. Also when I got it back the first time and it did same thing they were arrogant that it was repaired and it was something else so I took all input items off my other truck same year and options
so I then sent it back in on my dime. They repaired it again but still the same thing when I got it back. I then put a used one off eBay and everything is ok now and didn’t have to program it either. The places name is repairlaboratory.com

Sir, can you post a pic of the eBay VSM with its part number and the seller info? I also have a 2002 Lariat, CC, auto. What’s your truck specs?
Vsm on eBay they fit 02-07
Mine are 02 cclb 4x4 ps pb pw pl cc power seats
I just searched on eBay part number on my truck was 2c7t-15k602-ag
Replacement part number was 3c7t-15k602-ad
Plugged it in and everything worked no programming needed
