My new AC evaporator core should be showing up today so I'm trying to make sure I've got all the incidentals squared away. Wondering what to use for sealing up the evaporator box. Who's got some recommendations?

Damn, with shipping that's almost as much as the evaporator. Starting to think some weather stripping or something might be the ticket. I'll have to check some temperature ratings.

‘Yeah, I saw that too, at least you have the part number now… Good luck with whatever route you go.
Get this stuff. Available at most home improvement stores.
I saw that stuff in one of my Google searches I was kind of leaning towards it because of its temperature range. Just wasn't really sure about its long-term viability in an automotive application.

It works great. I’ve used it in heating and cooling applications way harsher than an engine bay and it stays nice and pliable. It seals really well too of course.
You said you have a new evaporator arriving (one day via FedEx), so cleaning it is not on the to do list and you are a very capable mechanic, but I thought this might help. At the very least it will help you remember the screw locations.

Sweet, nice to have some conformation the stuff will hold up and do the job.

Thanks, I'll likely needed for reassembly since I took it all apart last Thursday so I'm sure I've forgotten something. I hadn't initially planned on replacing the evaporator but once I pulled the orifice tube and saw what I saw. Plus the fact the accumlator nut was gaulded to the evaporator didn't leave me much choice.
That second pic is just for fun. That's my quick connect release tool I threw together when I realized I didn't have the right size one with me. If the cap off of a can of Aerokroil spray lubricant trimmed down and a worm gear hose clamp.
