I have a sub box which i can hear air hissing as i push in the sub. I tried sealing the inside with silicone, but it did not work as i couldn't reach every joint, (complex box). does anyone have any suggestions??
Do you have a seal between the sub and the box? If the hiss is coming from one of the box joints, the only fix is to seal it with silicone. I guess you could pull off the carpet and seal it on the outside if you can't reach the inside.
No, its one of the joints for sure, what do you use for a seal between the sub and box??? rubber?? Also i can't hear the hiss when the stereo is on. Will it make much of a difference if i seal it up totally??? I heard of using a spray adhesive to seal it, what do you figure

Most subs come with a rubber ring that goes between the sub and the box.
If you cant hear the hiss when the stereo is on, I really wouldn't worry about it. I seriously doubt you would hear ANY difference if you sealed it up completely. Seems like a lot of work to get your box sealed, especially when it really won't make much of a difference in the sound.
You also might not want to use silicone to seal the box too. Its been known to eat the roll on the woofer because of the fumes. Use something like liquid nails or equivalent. Just my 2 cents
