I got this brand a while back in a couple of sizes. These do hold well. I haven't decided if I like them more than the mag dishes. Now, if I could find magnetic gloves so the little parts would not drop out of my fingers......

there is a small imprint in the piston from the glow plug as far as I can see with the inspection camera. The cylinder walls do not look like they are damaged. I suspect the low compression pressure is from a valve leak.

I would like to add the dimensions for the sake of completeness ( hope I found the right word). With new glow plugs, the old version (long ZD12 version) protrudes 7.7mm into the combustion chamber, the new version (short ZD13 version) 6.3mm.
Of course it also depends on whether heads have already been machined or not.

It will surprise no one to learn that I dropped a screw down a carburetor that made it to a piston. The screw that holds the condenser in an old GM distributor. Doing a customer tune up in my first wrenching job - got out of HS at noon to work. I couldn't find it but we had others in our spare bolts box, and I just put it back together not even knowing what I'd done. Then, my second mistake. I started it before I added new oil. But, just for seconds. Still, heard that screw clattering around on the piston and had to fetch the boss. Told him about not putting in oil.

He tore the heads off that night and found the screw. Not for that, but I was eventually fired. LOL.
