Ok, so I have a 2005 6.0. I have a bad injector and was wondering if disconnecting it would get the ficm and if not, what would be the easiest way to disconnect it. Btw, I have the code and it’s cylinder 4. Any advice or info would be great.
I can’t help you with the FICM advice, but Motorcraft is not the same as purchasing from a dealer. I image it will set a DTC, possibly a check engine light too.
Many counterfeit or poorly rebuilt injectors are found all over the internet.
Best to purchase through a Ford dealer, not just someone who sells Ford remans.
Have you done a buzz test? If the injector does not respond, unplug the injector and plug in a new one. Now repeat the test. Usually the injector is the problem.
When you are ready to replace parts give Ed a call >>> https://www.ficmrepair.com
They sell real Ford parts and have access to other good parts. Also Ed and his staff
at FICMrepair are very good at support before, during and after the sale.
Ed started here just like the rest of us and found a fix for FICM issues and grew from there.
It will not damage the FICM if you run it with one injector unplugged. That said, I agree with the above ..... I wouldn't want to run an engine on 7 cylinders. Not for very long anyway.
not a good theory to rely on it may flood unplugged in my mind
Runaway comes to mind
Is it smoking already
Or is injector electronically fail only it may work
risk reward.
hmmm, alright, it isn’t smoking but I have a rough idle and rough ride at 55 mph. I do have the code as well so I’m gonna check the harness before I start anything major

alright, I appreciate the response. I suppose I’ll just wait until I can get the injector 👍
