2009 F150 SCrew Lariat w/ 220k miles, 4WD, 5.4L, stock.
The passenger window rolls down just fine but it only rolls up in short bursts. First press of the button and it goes up a few inches then stops. It won't move again until it "rests" for a while. The longer the rest, the more it will roll up before stopping. Resting a few minutes yields 0 to 1" of movement. Resting 5-10 minutes = about 4 or 5 inches. Seems like something gets hot and has to cool off before working again.
Would this be caused by the window motor? The relay? Something else?
I would appreciate your ideas. Thanks!
i would spray silicon on the window slides and mechanism and see if the DRAG is reduced.. Could be weak motor / electric... or could be too much power draw / dragging.
Thanks.
Two things I forgot to mention.
- Using either the driver's door or passenger door switch give the same results...so I ruled the switch out.
- Pulling up on the window while powering the motor makes little to no difference.
