My Hpop came from XDP Diesel. Good warranty and service. I think it was around $600. Still going strong. But with rebuilds your rolling the dice. I did and got lucky.

What makes the choice more difficult is that reliability means "quite a few years" and 100k + miles in most people's definitions. It is hard to get that information because many people will be off the forum after that long.

Good points as always Mark.
But we have to give advice to witch we experience. You have a long history with the 6.0, witch is why your opinion means so much. I'm just trying give the OP advice that I have been through. We all know the Adrenaline Hpop would be the best choice. I'm just trying to give him good options under that 800 to 1000 dollar mark.

We replaced the HPOP on our 6.0 with one from Ford. That was at 200k miles and 5 years ago. Pushing almost 300k miles now. It has worked well for us.

Is that on your 04?

That is getting into what I would consider the minimum acceptable longevity range.

Did you do anything extraordinary on pre-charging the high pressure oil system before cranking?

This was on a late model 2004. I will try and dig out any receipts for confirmation of part #s.
I do not recall doing any special prep on the pump prior to install like prefilling. The next one will get more attention.

I know of at least one person who hasn't had issues (yet) with a cheap HPOP from Pensacola. It wasn't this guy though (thread linked below) ............ Anyway, it has been a long time since then. I am sure that they have learned some things over all these years. Interesting that their re-builder could get it to pump backwards though.
