Decided to replace the plugs today, as well as the suspect o2 sensor. Oddly, the only plug that seemed fouled was the cyl 4 one, all others looked ok. Nothing really changed, so I decided to replace the air filter and clean the MAF. Still no change.

Tests are showing misfires in cyl 4 and 6, so I would suspect bad coils if I hadn't swapped 3 and 4, with the misfire not moving to 3.

I concur. It shouldn't be ticking that loud.

Get a mechanic's stethescope and pinpoint that ticking.

It's a 2013 - I've seen a few worrying reports from people about top-end valve-train problems with the V10 - most related to long-idle-time - like utility trucks.

 

Decided to investigate the ticking more. I raised the MH up a bit on its jacks, and the ticking is definitely coming from the passenger side valve cover, so I assume that is the cause of everything. I have someone coming to look at it this week, and hopefully it won't break the bank!
