Excursion V10 knocking sound on passenger side

Excursion V10 knocking sound on passenger side
I have an 05 EX and it is making a engine knock noise when I start it up. It goes away once it warms up. The engine has 100k on it and it just started to do it this past summer after towing my camper.
I also notice that the noise returns into a higher pitch knock when towing. You can't hear it in the cab but, once you get out you know something is making noise.
Possible manifolds? Lifter? any ideas?
My brother in law has an 00 EX V10 an that noise is constant with his.. He also has 198k on it. He had new manifold studs, resurfaced manifolds and heads replaced on his and the noise is still there..

Yes it is a V10. I checked the oil yesterday and it was a quart low. Filled it up with the normal 5w-20 Mobile 1 and the noise went away. I was surprised a quart low of oil would make it knock but, that must of been the culprit.
