Your switch is the only thing keeping the Chip on, It's also part of the anti theft feature, If the switch is damaged, or you remove the switch, the truck is dead.....I just tested it on mine. You can set it on 0 and remove the switch, it will brick the truck. you just pull the switch, the truck reverts to 0, it's a brick..... Switch is intermittent, Dead truck.

I was afraid to set mine up with a "no start" tune, so that the truck would revert to stock without the switch. At least that was the plan. So far, I've been running the truck without the switch for the last several months with no problems
You have to reason in that your switch is getting old and likely needs to be replaced. Call jody and see if he can offer help for your trip. Possibly he has a workaround. He will suggest a new switch I'm sure, but I'm curious to know if there is another ( temporary) option you could do with his help for your trip.
As I said, I was afraid of the "no start" tune, and the truck runs fine without the switch that way, just no exhaust brake or power tunes.
Sounds like it went into the no-start mode. When I put mine in the no-start mode the screen is dark. Try holding down the right button when you first turn the key switch on. If the right hand button is not pressed when the key is first turned to the on position it will do just as you stated. Crank but not start. You may have already tried this but it came to mind when you stated your problem.
It did seem like a no start mode when I had the issue. Cranked really fast like no compression or ??? But it did start after a couple of tries, and the starts seem normal (a second or two) now. Jody didn't comment on that.
