Recently did a motor transmission and transfercase swap from a 99. I pulled the 99 and put into the 01. I know the old owners of the 99 before I bought it back from being totaled for bed/frame damage so I know the motor and everything history and receipts.
swapped it ran no issues last night drove fine did everything like it is suppose to. Go out this morning no fire. Just cranks. No wait to start light and no tach bouncing. I checked all the fuses under the dash and hood. We kept the 01 pcm in but it had a Glowplug issue (on a switch) so we swapped the pcms and the 99 made the glow plugs work and no issues. Just this morning
The WTS light is on fuse 30 under the dash. It may look good but still be bad, IIRC @Wes444 had a situation where the fuse looked good but was not. I’d unplug the fuel bowl heater and replace fuse with a known good one and see if your light comes on. The tach should move on the 99-01 But because you don’t have the WTS light the pcm may not be sending the appropriate signal. I’d focus on the WTS light first and see if that fixes the tach problem...
Edit: just reread your post... it sounds like you got it fixed?

no i did not get it fixed. Which one is fuse 30. I don’t have the manual and I’m getting mixed results by google of course. I can replace it and see if it fixes it
Can I leave my fuel bowl Heater disconnected

You said you already checked the fuses, but check to make sure the PCM fuse is making good contact.
Another reason the WTS light will not come on is because of the signal wire on the GPR. I believe it is the dark blue one on the small lug toward the front of the vehicle.
Also, according to the 2000 MY owners manual, the PCM is in line with fuse #15 or #30 under the dash. Should be the same for a 2001 MY.
Regarding the GPR wire, see the crude drawing I created a couple of months ago for another project I was working on. The blue wire is in fact the signal for the WTS light for the PCM.
If none of that gets your truck going, look into the "no start flow charts" below which I took from the 7.3L PSD Tech Folder.
Okay so I never claimed to be a genius (thankfully lol) you two (Sous and Colorado) have been life savers since day one for me. 1. In order for that 99 to work we had to disconnect the fuel bowl. You know what we connected after the swap. The fuel bowel.
2. I disconnected the fuel bowl and still no wts light. You know what fuse just so happened to be blown. The 30. I did check all fuses this morning and the tester read good on them. But that one happened to be blown my second go around on visual inspection

We are always willing to help those willing to help themselves. Often times the most difficult part is for people like you to let us know what you see, hear and have done.
Well done sir! Easy fix and now you can stand back and be proud of what you have done. Sometimes it is the small things that hang us up and after an engine swap, a fuse just about got you.
