Building a kill switch

I just pulled the wires from the emergency fuel pump cut off switch, truck just sat there and idled, did I miss something important?

I put it in the garage and will let the fuel rail drain down for a couple hours, but if it still starts I'm guessing that I need to put the kill switch somewhere else.

I put a switch on the hot wire of the fuel pump. Forgot to turn it on and drove around wandering why it was running so bad. Moral of the story, they can still drive away with it. I suggest the DP F5 switch. All you have to do is unplug it, and the truck will not start. It'll crank, but not start.

Sam, I recommend a Dp Tuner chip. Either the old style with a rotary switch or the new style F5. On the old style, say you have a total of 3 tunes, for example stock, 40 tow, 80 economy. Set the rotary switch to 4 positions. The fourth position is the kill position; it will crank but not start. Mount the switch somewhere out of sight and you're in business. On the F5, just unplug it. Either way you'll have the best tuner/chip in the business in addition to the kill switch.

Springer Pop has an ingeniously simple set up that completely disables the truck. Hidden switch that is activated and deactivated with a magnet in his key fob. He is supposed to be working on a detailed "how to" in his spare time. He described its functionality in a recent thread... link below, look at his post # 57.

Thanks

Thanks for the replies guys,

If I would have joined FTE sooner I would have got Jody's gear instead of a Super Chip Tuner.

Maybe an upgrade this summer.

I was following the other thread, that's why I thought I'd at least put a kill on the fuel pump. I'll keep following it.

Besides throwing a code, the truck seemed to run ok with the fuel pump off.

I looked for the clutch switch but didn't see it easily, maybe I'll dig deeper.

Have a good evening.

Sam

I have an awesome kill switch, truck will not start unless you push a particular window switch at the same time. Easy and cheap. PM me for instrucions.
