Some places here in Ca don't smog at all. Smog is only in high populated areas. I live in the bay area. If you live in a low populated area you get a freebee

They killed classic cars when they went to unleaded fuel. Unleaded fuel killed valve seats. I had to replace my seats and valves in my 68 Mustang. There is not much you can do to smog a car older than mine. I believe they just started smog around that time. Mine is a Ca. car and it doesn't have a smog pump. older cars like mine are not designed for smog. I don't think the state can force you to buy catalytic converters. I also don't think they can stop registering them ether.
