I have a 2001 F 350 with the 7.3 diesel. I went through an injector problem last year and found that they were replaced with Pensacola injectors, which I would not recommend. I went to Ford and got a complete set of injectors and it was fine for about a month then it was starting to clatter again and it scanned #3 injector interment. Ford warranted the injector and it was fine for about 2 weeks. Rescanned and it came up with the same results in the same cylinder which I don't think is likely. I am leaning toward a bad wire in the injector harness or worst case the injector control module. My question is, could a cam sensor cause that problem in only one cylinder? I know the sensor is old.

From what I've read, yes it could. As inexpensive and easy a CPS is, why not just change it and see what happens? I just bought the latest greatest version for a spare.
I can only measure the supply fuel pressure at the fuel bowl. That is running at 50psi, Ford spec says 45 to 60 psi's. I don't have any way to measure rail pressure and neither does the Ford dealer accordind to them.
So you have a fuel pressure gauge in the cab or did you just test it with a mechanical gauge at the bowl? It can read ok at idle but can drop under a load once you start driving.
All I have is a mechanical gauge and testing it at the bowl. I am going to have to figure a way to hang the gauge where I can see it inside. Is there a gauge that will plug into the ecu and read it from inside?

If you measure fuel pressure from the port on the left side of the bowl as you are facing it, it is post filter and would be the same as rail pressure.

I have seen guys report that they use a long hose and tape the gauge to the windshield.
50 psi of fuel at idle is a good sign. Great to know if it falls off under load but so far so good.
It would be helpful to be able to monitor PIDs to see what your PCM sees. Forscan app on your android and OBD2 adapter will get ya there for reasonable cost. That's a fave but research before you buy, lots out there.
