Still had had almost all the points from a 2019 when I traded for a 2020. I'd used some from a 2017 for an oil change or two. Got 42k points in October 2020 for the new 2020. Then another 42,000 came out of nowhere on 12/2/20.

You get a pile when you buy a new truck, depending on the trim line. My XLT Premiums have been 42000 points each. Pretty sure that higher models get you more points. You also have to activate the FordPass app upon getting a truck. But the dealer will always walk you through that upon delivery.
I've used them for oil changes and the other day I just ordered a tailgate lock and a tailgate damper to use some of them up.
Any for service also gets you some points. I took my truck in a few days ago to have a headlight assembly replaced due to condensation/fogging and I was given 1103 points.

Thanks for the description. I had no idea. Someday I’ll get a truck ....it’s been built but I don’t know anything beyond that.

All trim lines get the same number of points. The difference is gas vs. diesel - diesel gets 75K points, gas gets 42K points.

Your sales person will go over all of it with you when you take delivery of the truck. They'll help you get the app installed and set you up. Your points may take some time to be awarded. I've had them show up in a week and I've also waited for over a month. The people that I called and spoke to about the late points were basically worthless.

Then I stand corrected. But I knew that there was something that got you more points somehow.
