Unhappy HELP! Tailgate Parts Needed!

I have a 89 F150 that needs the Tailgate and most parts replaced...rusted out and frozen. So I have found that the aftermarket tailgates go for around 100 bucks, and I can get misc parts from the Ford dealer for cheap. BUT they want 76.50 just for one tailgate latch!! Yikes!! And I CANNOT find anywhere on the web where to buy one either new, used, or salvaged. Any help with this part? Also, any good source for tailgate parts in general? Thanks, new user sure to return HELP! Tailgate Parts Needed! HELP! Tailgate parts needed!

If you check out car-part.com they list some tailgates for cheap that are trashed but have good parts. You can find a decent used one on there for 200 and they might be OEM which are probably thicker metal than the crappy aftermarket ones.

Thank you for your replies. I hope that I am not violating any rules by letting everyone know that I got the tailgate latch thru JC Whitney for 19.95!! So I got two, one for each side. Sure, they won't as good as the Ford part, but what they heck probably will last longer than I own the truck.
