Why do you think that is related?

Fan clutch was seized up which was causing constant resistance against the engine which in turn will consume more go go juice.

Dang it the stupid P1316 came back after 82 miles. Stating same cylinders and wastegate boost. Cleared it all and ran all test twice.. Nothing is coming back up.. This is definitely becoming confusing.

So this makes absolutely no sense to me. As stated in last post I had the P1316 show up at 80 miles. Cleared it all, tested and was good. Now I've traveled 312 miles total and still no codes or pending codes. Truck is running good minus needing new front tires. This ever happened with anyone or am I the only one with a truck with a mind of its own?

Pretty sure every engine I've ever been around that's put on some years and miles have had their own personality.

Well drove a total of 369 miles and stopped to take care of a fiber optic job and when I just went to start it the mystery P1316 was back. So think when I get home Monday I'll open passenger side up and check those injectors for shims and remove them. I know when I did rebuild the injectors I gauged all of them and the ones I did shim I verified that they weren't over .004 or less than .002. I'm just so confused is all. Very last resort is to buy new injectors when I have the money and just limp around until then. BLAH

I have shimmed 2 of my injectors to 0.12mm armature clearance.
That's .0047",with no codes and no hitting to the solenoids.
It was Swamps info sheet that said factory clearance can be up to .005"

I'm just so done with it. I've been at this for a few months now and each time I think I've solved the problem it comes back or something new pops up.. I've owned this truck since 2016 and the only problems I've ever had was an injector failure, mystery oil leak on top and low exhaust backpressure sensor go out.. This is definitely testing me, especially when this is my only mode of transportation.

Just a quick question, been researching on and off though the night on trying to figure this mess out. Could a faulty CPS cause these issues? Just last week while going down the interstate the engine sounded like it was starving for fuel and was jerking. Could these tell tell signs of P1316 ( P1271, P1275, P1277 and P1274) be a related issue of the CPS? Tonight when trying to leave a parking lot the truck would start, but as soon as I dropped into gear the RPMs would drop and it would stall. I'm just trying to figure this all out.

CPS is inexpensive, you can try a new Motorcraft.
Most likely CPS not your problem.
My experience in CPS failure is that it leaves a specific code for CMP circuit or no codes at all.

Have you done a pcm reset yet? I was getting some weird codes and strange behavior after swapping IDM a month or so ago, did reset and it helped for sure.

No I haven't tried this yet. Guess I'll try it today at some point. It can't hurt . At this point if someone suggested hopping around on one foot and spell Ford backwards several times would fix it, I'd probably try it.

Don't know about the hopping on one leg stuff, but I've found that talking dirty to it sometimes helps.

LMAOOOOO 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I definitely talk dirty to it, cuss it out and threaten it constantly lately. Constipated taking to diesel mechanic, but they will probably do or suggest everything I've done so far. Here is the list of what I've done since January.
Replaced injector cups
Replaced injector o-rings
Replaced IPR
Replaced ICP and Pigtail
Replaced Oil cooler
Replaced Exhaust Pressure sensor
Replaced MAP
Replace Turbo
Replaced Boost sensor (red/green vacuum tube assembly)
Replaced IDM
Replaced UVCH (twice)
Rebuilt Injectors
Replaced Pigtail for passenger UVCH
Done resistance test from solenoids, 42pin and IDM.
Swapped solenoids to see if codes would follow.
Buzz tested,, Demand tested and any other test I could do through FORScan.

And after doing all of this I'm still getting this stupid P1316 code. So if anyone has any ideas of what I might be missing I would be very much appreciative.

The only other potential causes listed for that PCM code I see are IDM relay faulty or PCM faulty.
