I removed the blend door accuator and moved the control by hand and it didn't change anything. Like I mentioned before, there is a TSB for the heater core becoming partially plugged, so when they can drop the truck off, we'll check that...
One would think if passenger side had good heat it would be a directional flow problem. Please keep us informed after dealer visit.
I finally get this truck back for a couple days! Has anyone come across a problem like this? I am going to back flush the heater core and see what happens, but I'm not holding my breath! I suspect something in the airbox is amiss!
Figured it out, the duct splits at the heater core, the top part goes to the passenger side and the bottom of the heater core goes to the drivers heat side. Tried to make a video of the whole process, but this is all I got!
Had two of these, the first one I replaced the heater core
and it took care of the problem, the second one we used
pulsating hot water back and forth through the heater core,
till there was no more grease coming out. Use a garden hose
for hot water in and a 5 gal bucket to catch what came out,
when the grease stopped showing we put it back together and
it has worked like it should since. We connected a water
nozzle to the hose and just made the water pulsate by
squeezing short blasts of hot water.....anyway it worked.
