My 2002 F150 manual control heater is not blowing hot enough to keep cab warm. I have checked the blend door and it opens and closes when i turn the control **** from cold to hot, I cut an access hole in the air duct behind the glove box and i can see the blend door opening and closing, I put a heat gun to check the temp on the heater core and it is showing 195 Degree, I have flushed the coolant system filled it back to proper level installed new 195 degree thermostat, both heater hoses are hot, but it just doesn't get warm enough in the cab. It's like the a/c is blowing with the heater. Oh and yes i did make sure the selector **** was in panel/floor not a/c. Please help!
if you have 195 degree water, and the blend door is fully stroked, then your not transferring heat. Possibly the heater core is plugged. Instead of just flushing the system, take off both hoses from the heater and connect a garden hose to one and flush just the core itself... without the motor / coolant passes.
If your blower is operating, the heater core is 195, both hoses are hot and stay hot, and the blend door works properly, you should have enough heat in the cab to slow roast a turkey, regardless of whether the AC is running or not. Therefore, one or more of your observations has to be incorrect or incomplete.
