Heater Vent

My 2005 heater vents have two separate runners feeding the passenger side. One is sort of pointing to the back. Anyway, when the heat is on, the little wife gets run out as both affect the front passenger area. I've put tape over about 50 percent of the opening and it seems to have moved some of the hot air over to the drivers side and gave things a better balance. Has anyone been bothered by this and have some solutions to share?

Hope I'm not insulting you, but you know you can close them?

Heater Duct

Ah yes, if I close them via the vent control then there is NO heat for her little feet.

Yes, I too (or should say the little miss) has had this same problem. Mine is an '04 and I taped it 80% closed with black duct tape

My 2005 has two on the floor on each side, I wonder is there a kit that would allow ducting these to behind the front seats to keep the back of the CC warmer? Anyone seen these, perhaps ducts from an Excursion?

not sure if it helps, mhoefer, I have a cc and the wife has an X, both are 2000, appears that the little duct closest to the trans hump on the passenger side of the X is the one that route the air to under the passenger seat to blow to floor of the rear via a seperate duct. Unfortunately, it looks like you would have to change the under dash duct work as well as add the rear piece, and the carpet is molded slightly different to compensate, bulks up a bit at the top edge of the hump and under the seat. Thinking the black tape may be the way to go, or you could always use some velcro to "adjust" the airflow for when she suddenly says "I'm cold"
