yep. It does bite.

pulled the number one injector and stuck the bore scope down into the cylinder. First thing to notice was a giant crack. Second was a big hole in the cylinder wall.

found some used motors for around 2k, figure stud and reseal. Thoughts?

Another thing to add. Super clean lariat, no rust, seats look and feel new. Paid $5800 last year and 5k miles ago with worn out injectors. Spent close to 4 with the injectors turbo and other odds and ends.

the wrecking yards give a small warranty. This failure isn’t normal. Sometimes people put the required coolant additive in the cooling systems.

Oy the truck news does not get any worse than that! My sympathies.

OTOH once you are done putting her back together you'll have every reason for confidence in the truck.

Buddies buying my 180’s and turbo. I’m going bigger this build. Transmission is going to hate me.
