$7, throw it away when done with it if worried about cross contamination.

This whole, buy stuff to pour out of a pail, to save a few bucks and deal with 5 gallon buckets is starting to get silly. In the end gallon jugs seem easier, and relatively close in price, for the 1-2 times a year most of us change oil.

The prices below reflect current prices as of 1023 EST on January 13th with free shipping and taxes not calculated.

Triax Fleet Supreme 5w40 gallon - $26.50
Triax Fleet Supreme 5w40 bucket - $115 ($23 per gallon)
Triax Fleet Supreme 15w40 bucket - $115 ($23 per gallon)
Rotella T6 5w40 gallon - $22
Rotella T6 15w40 gallon - $23
Travelers 15w40 bucket - $45 ($9 per gallon)

I suspect I will purchase 4 gallons of Triax 5w40 on sale using Chrome browser extension Octoshop as it runs automatically and in the background. In addition, I plan to call and speak to a sales representative at Triax about the quote Jeff (BWST) posted above. Not because I am dead set on running 5w40 or 15w40, just interested in hearing about the differences between the two and why it is considered a "superior product".

For the emoji fans, I will leave you with this

and this CDC recommended (read as mandated) workout before using a 5 gallon bucket of oil to fill through a 2" hole or using a large yellow bedpan that costs $36...

The 5 gallon pail of 15w-40 is still in stock on ebay for the same price if you wanted to go that route, the 5w-40 buckets are sold out.

Saw that, and thank you. Since I am in no hurry and don't like impulse buying, I will wait and speak to Triax before making a choice on the 15w40 vs. 5w40. I am pretty good friends with FTE'r Khan (Jake) who got in touch with George from Triax a while back and have asked Jake if he has a direct number or email address for George.

Besides, I need to get in shape using the CDC recommended (mandated) work out schedule as I am not as limber as Wesley or some of these other fellas.

EDIT: I will add the 15w40 to the list I created above in order to make it more inclusive. Thanks again.

probably because it shears down from a 40w to a 35 or 30 with use but that’s just a wild guess.

LMAO!! That's good stuff. I would be very interested in what triax has to say about the difference in oils (5w40-15w40)

going to have to agree. Not enough of a discount over 1 gallon jugs to justify the hassle. If I had a 55 gallon drum I’d still just fill a 1 gallon jug with a barrel pump. (I wouldn’t mind a bright yellow Schaeffer car wash bucket though!)

The CDC recommended (mandated) workout is meant to save lives and tax dollars. Being in proper shape will not only save MILLIONS of lives due to personal injury, it will save MILLIONS of lives due to not having to visit THE VID infested hospitals.

Anyway, I will either post up what I hear from Triax regarding the details between 5w40 and 15w40 here or in yet "another" (OMFG ANOTHER OIL THREAD!!!!) oil thread if this one goes too sideways. Frankly, I don't care which I run, but if one is "superior" to the other based on what Triax is telling their customers, it would be nice to know how they are different when the "Triax Fleet Supreme Data Sheet" does not offer a lot of information. I do not consider Amazon reviews as a reputable source of information, but I do consider it a good source for more questions and details that need to be ironed out.

Kahn posted an email he got from them. That was the catalyst for me selecting the 5w-40. It had a tad bit more robust add pack. I'll holler at him and see if he will post it here. I'll be sticking with 5w even in summer. I don't see the real point if changing over weights.

If anyone has any questions they would like me to ask of Triax and/or George at Triax, I would be more than glad to do so when I speak to them.

Also, Triax data sheet information on the blends...
