@bwguardian , there is a 6.7L to 7.3L starter conversion in the Tech Folder. Although, if you have time and desire, a bolstering of the instructions and details on how to accomplish the modification would be greatly appreciated by many for many years to come. As the 7.3L becomes more difficult to source parts for and the 6.7L becomes more prevalent to source parts for so to speak.
We look forward to your progress report and any details you can offer about the modification.
Sous, I believe this is the same video in that...^^^...Tech Folder link you have there, but I thought I'd just leave it here so folks could see it as it's really informative!

It is the same video, but having it here might inspire more people to venture out on this journey.
Thanks for posting the shop information, we appreciate it. I prefer to give business to people that are small business and treat customers well.
It was also the same time that I installed the QuickStart alternator, which I NO LONGER RECOMMEND to anyone.
Just curious as to what happened with your alternator?
Thought I read somewhere in a post from January that you were happy with it. Can't remember exactly what post it was from.
@Hootr Hey Kerry, I am still satisfied with the performance and quality of my QuickStart alternator, but I will NEVER send business their way again due to how they treated a fellow FTE'r and someone I consider a friend. @F0rdc0wb0y was put through the wringer with their product and customer service, or lack there of.
Below is a link to his thread detailing his ordeal after he quickly diagnosed there was a problem with the QuickStart alternator right out of the box. As you can see from the thread creation date of 10-26-2020, you probably did read before that date that I was happy with my QuickStart alternator, and I still am. But, the moment it starts to give me problems, I am going with a Leece Neville just like he did.
Okay, so the starters finally got here this afternoon and I just now got the one with 11,000 miles switched over and ready to go. It didn't even have any dust from the brushes built up and the grease was in still new condition and not discolored. Those new brushes are a booger to get back over the armature...I wanted to go ahead and clean the minimum residue on the copper poles. There is one thing I ran into that I have not seen documented anywhere. The 2 hole Visteon starter nose for the 7.3L that has to be switched over to the new 6.7L unit has smaller long bolts...the exterior bolts that hold the midsection together which go the length of the unit. I went ahead and bought a brand new, but damaged...one of the solenoid lugs is broken off...DB Electric oem style offset gear reduction starter for a good deal off Ebay. I plan to switch the solenoid from the Visteon I pulled from my F350 and then install on the wife's Excursion. So I will check and see what size those two bolts are when it arrives. As aforementioned, I did get two low mileage 6.7L starters but they do pull a few more amps...I think 100 from what I read, not a biggie. The batteries in my truck are brand new, but the ones in the wife's Excursion are about a couple years old. So my thought is to utilize the new DB Electric starter for a year in the Excursion, then switch it over to the 6.7L unit. I've read the DB units will typically last right up to the warranty then give up the ghost. I needed the DB unit as the Excursion has the original 3 hole Mitsubishi unit and I couldn't find the correct 2 hole nose for the conversion. This will allow me to have an offset gear reduction unit as a spare to keep in the tool box. So tomorrow I will install the 6.7L starter in my truck and see how that works out...
One of my db electric POS starters only worked 12 times before ****ting the bed. I recently found those starters on alibaba for under $50... We should all have a product with over 100% margins to screw people with. I’ve heard that rebuilders day this POS is not worth fixing when it fails.
FWIW, after 3rd failure, db told me they would not replace it again and would refund my $$. I kept the last POS as an emergency starter and reluctantly (guilt ridden) gave it away to someone in need.
Got the rest of some other things cleaned up and the starter installed. Wow is all I have to say! Definitely worth the time and money on this one. Hopefully get that other starter in the next day or two and see how that pans out...
So those bolts on the DB unit were actually larger like the oem 6.7 unit. I switched out the solenoid, disconnected then checked the batteries...they were at 12.87v and 13.14v...and installed the DB starter. It does roll over good, but I can tell the 6.7 starter sounds different and also appears to roll over a bid faster. Going to run it for a bit then convert it to the 6.7 and put the DB in the toolbox as a spare...may even crack the Mitsubishi open and take a look see at the brushes...
