Does anyone know how to do a simple one inch lift on a 98 Expy 5.4 XLT? I want to go a size bigger than the 265/70 R17 on my KO's, to a 275. I do not want any rubbing, so a 1 inch should do it.
Any ideas?
If you are a 4x4 you won't rub with the new size tire. Again if you are a 4x4, try cranking your torsion bars to get a little lift up front. This will level out your rig.
I've got 3/4" taller tires than you're contemplating on my stock '00 4x4.

I think Buzzard has 33's on his Expy without a lift - but he's got the standard suspension. If your rig has the Load Leveling Suspension, you'll have to do some tweaking.
No load levelers on mine. Is it possible to crank the torsion bars up front and thow 1 inch spring extenders in the back? Will 33's affect the mileage much?
Tor, 33's fit fine, so long as you don't get crazy on the width (> 12"). The 275 size tire you mention is really only 32 inches. The torsion bars are easily adjusted, but don't get too crazy. I've read that an inch is about all you want to crank them to avoid any problems with suspension dynamics. There are two bolts at the ends of the bars (almost directly under the driver seat and passenger seat under the truck). Turn ~3 full revolutions clockwise for an inch up front. I wouldn't mess with the back because if you do, you'll be back to square one with an uneven Expy.
Yes gas mileage will suffer slightly, your gear ratio will change the same % as your tire height change and your speedo will be off the same %. Many of these can be corrected with hand held tuners or the dealerships can reflash for you.
