Hello, having problems with my 2017 F250 6.7. First late model diesel since a 2001 F350 7.3 and a lot has changed! Truck is a 2017 F250 Lariat with ultimate package. 30k miles. All stock except for leveling kit and deleted with a E-Z link tuner. Love my truck it’s never let me down till now. Shut it off last Wednesday fine. Started it Thursday with blind spot, cross traffic fault and airbag light. Subsequently discovered other things not working: center stack controls (radio/HVAC) with limited screen control, heated/cooled seats, keyless key FOB functions, tailgate (gate switch and keyless, dash switch works). Stop and turn rear lamps partially working, lower on left and top on right. Taillights and other lights normal but rapid blink on dash. Replaced batteries and had BCM checked. Bed and tailgate were R&I due to accident over a year ago. Truck is awaiting tailgate wiring harness recall by dealer. Left at dealer 3 days they are telling me (not guaranteeing) it’s the Front interface control module, parts ordered. Sounds somewhat reasonable but expensive. No warranty left. Have parts for tailgate recall but haven’t installed yet. Had good resources for older trucks but this is beyond me. Anyone with similar problems or suggestions before I spend $1000+? Thanks
There’s a wiring harness by the parking brake that can cause all sorts of electrical issues; many threads. One thread is linked. Worth a shot to check it.
I’d mentioned the tailgate recall not yet done. I’m pushing the dealer to install this before the module on the chance that could be the problem. Service adviser says no way it could be. I say what does it hurt to do it in the meantime. Any reasons to think the tailgate harness could be the problem? Tailgate currently only opens with dash switch.
Yes, the problem could be in the same harness/connector that the tailgate recall addresses. I would get that done first before spending diagnosis money on other areas that could also contribute to the problem.
Truck at dealer all week 2nd time. Tailgate wiring recall didn’t solve the problem. They have put a hold on replacing the Front interface module due to having another F250 there now with similar issues that weren’t resolved with module replacement. Service writer said they have “reached out” to Ford whatever that means. If this is something simple I’m worried they can’t see the forest for the trees or scanner in this case, almost seems like they don’t want to get their hands dirty these days. I did request they drop the spare and inspect all the connectors but have a feeling they haven’t done that. Also freaky is I’ve seen that other F250 they’re talking about and it’s been there for weeks!
Dealer reported another F250 with same issue in shop with mine. Replaced afore mentioned front interface module on that truck with no results. Suspended work on mine. Inquired to FOMOCO and was directed to check wiring harness under dash drivers side. Found shorted wire and repaired. Issues fixed on other truck and found same issue on mine. Repaired wire and everything works fine. Charged 5 hours labor to diagnose/fix. Best $594 I’ve spent. Harvey Truck is back home and the deleted 6.7 chattering happily. I rescued him from Baytown TX in 2017-18 and had to stick with him. It wasn’t his fault, just a blind spot fault! Crazy so many systems failed due to one wire. If anyone experiences these issues add this solution to the list of possibilities. The invoice doesn’t have a lot of detail but for more info contact Langdale Ford in Valdosta GA and ask for Derrick Jones service writer or Jack Howell JR service manager. Super Duty Powerstrokin’!

Glad you got it worked out and thanks for sharing with the forum.
My 2015 Ford F350 SRW Platinum has some weird electrical issues. If the outside temp hits 92 degrees the whole center stack goes black and the HVAC goes to SEVERE HOT with NO fan control. I have tried the RESET method on the Radio control and it will blink ON and then go to "Network Communication Error" on the NAV screen. Thought it was water intrusion first but have troubleshot it down to possibly the (FCIM) Front Controls Interface Module. My next step is to somehow get some type of cooling agent to spray on the module when the BLACK screen comes ON to see if I can confirm an overtemp situation. Not looking forward to spending $536.00 on a replacement FCIM. Have checked the harnesses that have been mentioned here on this thread but all seem to be fine.
