Transmission is almost done. Got an ATS transmission. Let’s see how it does. Transfer case was stuck and wouldn’t shift, but I got that fixed while it was out. Any tips on breaking it in and getting
it going would be greatly appreciated. Thanks y’all!
New transmission getting put in place. Bellhousing was clearly cracked. I had already peeled it off here, but the previous owner tried to epoxy the thing together. Out with the old.
Interested to hear your impressions of the ATS E4OD. What made you go with them over other builders?
I’ve heard mixed reviews, but I figured I’d give them a fair shot. It’s not going to be the last transmission I put in this thing, so I reckon I oughta try it out before I get a tougher transmission to support more power down the road.
Alright, she’s all bolted in and the truck moves under it’s own power and I’ve got reverse again. Now we move to body work and re-doing the bench seat.
Thats a shiny fuel tank. Mine looks like aids on the the outside, lord knows what the inside looks like.
The epoxy on the bellhousing is hilarious. I've epoxy on lots of things but never to hold a transmission together.
Hahah my current tank isn’t looking too hot either! And I’ve never in my life seen someone try to epoxy a bellhousing either, but I reckon they did what they had to. I bought it planning on replacing the transmission anyway, so no big deal.
Finally got around to repairing my bench seat and finding a stock cup holder.
Here’s the stock lower support assembly. I tried wiring it up previously, but it didn’t do the trick. Here’s the new one installed. Here’s the seat all repaired. I had to stitch a huge tear in the back but didn’t get a picture. I found some stock cup holders finally for less than the normal going price of $100 on e-bay. They need some cleaning, but they’ll be just fine.
Powermaster gear reduction starter and OBDII/cigarette lighter fix
Put in my Powermaster gear reduction starter and fixed my OBDII port issue. Easy work, but big improvements over the junk pile I had when I started. Powermaster starter is in. This thing is bad!! Turns over this old motor so fast! OBDII port wasn’t working when I tried plugging in my EDGE monitor. Easy fix. 15amp fuse in the #16 position in the cab was blown.
