Remote Starter options

My truck came with a remote starter and I want to have that feature again. The previous owner hacked up the wire harness to when he installed it and it had to go. Since then I have removed the dash, replaced the in cab harness and removed any non factory wiring from the truck. I wanted to see if anyone had experience with a style harness that plugs right in vs chopping wires and reconnecting them.
Thanks for the help

I had mine professionally installed, I think our trucks predate any plug and play remote start options. I agree having the remote start fixture is worth the $400 I spent on it!!

I have my second Compustar in my truck and love it. My first one was in the truck for 12 years. My second one has been about 1 1/2 years. Has remote start, alarm, and turbo timer.

All three vehicles have Astrostart. I believe they were one of, if not the first to market. Up to a mile range with two way communication. Never a single issue in 9 years.
