thanks Cobra. That is one that I was thinking about. Only thing that scared me was its made by DEI which also makes the Valet remote which I know doesn't work as good for what I need.
Thanks for the reply!

Doesn't Motorola have one that uses a cell phone style remote, you just call your truck from anywhere and start it?

Wow, that is crazy, just call your truck and it starts itself. I take it there is like a pin # or something? Where is the best price on one of these?

Starters work on anything with an automatic tranny.

I beg to differ my fellow FTE users, I installed a remote starter on a friends manual tranny F150. Took some time and brain power, but I got it done.

there are plenty of remote starters for manual trannys, the problem is most places wont sell them or install them because of the liability involved if people leave their cars in gear and they smash into something when the hit the start button.

It's also a lot easier to install on automatic.

I read you could do it to any as long as it's automatic. I don't know why it would have to be fuel injected.

Because a fuel injected model alway's has the pressure. A carbed model usually requires a pump or two of the pedal. It should still work on a carbed model if everything is fine (not a hard starting vehicle).

I am going to try to put one on my semi, it would be nice to just push a button and start the truck on those cold morning's.
