I always like to have a backup especially when you are required to have 2 FOBs to program a 3rd. So I ordered by backup FOB but when I was reading my manual on page 56, it states the keys/fobs should have come with a security label with the codes for cutting the keys. I do not use the stealerships for this or usually any of their services so just wondering if the 2020s come with these labels? I know they can use your VIN but I'd prefer to have the security codes. Thanks for any input.
If you have other working keys they can be used for a guide in cutting the new keys. I've gotten new fobs/keys from eBay where you send them a phone pic of another key and they will cut it for you. That has worked so far no problem.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ What he said !!! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I ordered my spare on ebay and it came cut , just had to program it to the truck .
Thanks.... I guess it has been so long, my old 2006 key is a typical external key with the bumps and ridges being traditional. This new key is with the bumps and ridges internal (if that makes any sense). I've already got the new fob programmed. At least Ford made that easy.
My dealership sent me a FMC Vehicle Ownership Verification Form. I filled it out with a copy of my license and a day later they sent me Ford Dealer Code sheet with the codes for my keys.
Anyone know if you can just get a Key Copy made, without the FOB ?
Or is there a way to take the key out and use it on a chain.... like the old school key and FOB on a ring?
I know it sounds silly but I just can't stand the FOB sticking out like that
I know this is an older thread, but where are these sellers on Ebay that will send you a precut key?
I haven't been able to find them.
I just bought my new to me 2017 F250 with one key, I did find where the original selling Ford dealer gave a slip of paper that had key codes with the owners manual. Will that help me with getting a correct cut?
I have forscan and can figure out the rest of the programming.
