My son managed to lose both the main, and the spare keys. I found an old clicker, so we can open the doors, but I need to know where the key codes are so I can give them to my locksmith friend.

I don't know about a key code, but you can take the vin to a dealership and they can get you keys that way.
You need vin and paper work showing its your truck before the dealer will order a key. It takes 2-3 weeks
Proving ownership isn't a problem. I have a friend that made a key for my Honda, and he got the code off one of the key cylinders. I figured he could do the same thing for my Ford, but I don't know where the code is on the Ford. It was on the trunk lock of my Honda.
No luck at the dealership. They can't do vehicles older than 2003. They said call a locksmith, which I did, and now I'm just waiting on the call back with the price.
Geez, this is -- or should be -- a simple database issue. Ford should have a database lookup whereby they key in the VIN, and it spits back the keycode. You take that keycode to a locksmith and they cut the key. There are supposedly evem some locksmiths who have access to the keycode databases. Try doing a search on "automotive locksmiths" in your area.
