I have never done that exact swap but done a few simular, Last one was 2008 4.6 in 73 f100 my advice is get a complete runnng donor vehicle then you have everything you need and trust me it will save you money in the long run. Then before you pull the donor engine thin the engine harness of all you won't need like lights, emissions items you don't plan to use, and things under the dash that are tied in. Test run it after each thing you delete. If it won't run go back and hook it.back up. Then tidy up the harness and swap it all over.
There's a build thread over on Fullsizebronco where a guy put a 4.9L L6 and ZF5 from a '94 F-150 into his 78 Bronco. He had the whole donor truck like @symonds86 recommends. I don't recall how he did it all, but I remember seeing all of the wiring splayed across his cab while he was doing the wiring and it was enough to give me anxiety just looking at the pics. lol.
Here's his build thread. I think the engine stuff starts on page 2, but it's worth it to go through it from the beginning. He did a bit of fabricating going from a 351M/C6/NP205.
