I did it yesterday, worked fine. Make sure you put the license file in the "syncmyride" folder. Mine failed the first time because I did not. Went from v1 17 to v1 19
Good Afternoon!! Approx how long did the truck take to update. Also, did you drive your truck while updating or let it idle during the update process? Thanks in advance ;-)

It took about 50 minutes to download; I have gig internet. Took about 30 minutes to copy to USB (my port is USB 3.0, not sure about the drive). Took 45-60 minutes (wasn't really paying attention) to update truck. I let it idle for about 20 minutes, then had a short trip to make. If you chose to let it idle, make sure you disable "auto shut down" if equipped.
One problem I had, I copied the license file onto the USB, along with the three files that come from the zip file you download. That doesn't work, I had to go back and reread the directions carefully, when the zip file creates the three directory entries on the USB stick one of them is a file folder called syncmyride, and you have to copy the license file into that folder, not the root directory of the USB. The instruction say this, but since they want you to rename the USB stick syncmyride when you format, it didn't occur to me that they meant copy the license file into the folder. If you don't, it gives you an error message, LST ERR05

That threw me as well.
I got it sorted out and installed the update today. It took about 30 minutes while driving around doing errands, and we’re now at Nav version 1 19.
Even after I had moved the license file to the SyncMyRide folder on the USB, I still got the LST_ERR05 error which indicates a problem with the license file. I then noticed that the license file downloaded did not have the correct file extension. The license file downloaded had extension ".GZ" but needed to be ".TAR.GZ" (like all of the other files listed in the SyncMyRide folder). I manually changed the license filename extension to ".TAR.GZ" and then was able to complete the map update from NA 1 17 to NA 1 19.
I have a 2019 F-350 Dually with SYNC3 software version 3.0 Build 19205.
BTW, calling the Ford CRC number did not help with the Nav update issue at all. They would have had me spend $40 for a USB with the same files on it. I've even seen reports that the USB from the supplier have the same issue with the license filename extension error. I found information on the filename extension from another post on FTE forum (the F150 forum) and wanted to share it here.
I updated mine over the last two days. Followed the .pdf instructions and all went well. I had a 35 minute drive to get the golf course, so the truck only sat and idled about 25 minutes... Sync 3.0 latest build is 20204. Latest NAV is STILL NA 1 19... Truck is now just over 3 years old. Factory Nav from 3 years ago was 1 18. Why isn't there a 1 20 or even a 1 21 yet? I plan to keep my truck several more years; I sure hope Ford will continue to update the nav...
