The map version I downloaded is NA 1 19. I haven’t installed it yet as the instructions state the update install can take up to an hour and the engine has to be running...
I went to FLM Owner, copied my VIN and site said good to go on all my updates. I also connected the truck to my in home WiFi and no updates indicated.
What year? This is specifically a map update only. A FordPass notification was sent to those who it applies too, if you didn't get the notification It propably doesnt apply to yours. I posted a link above to where the Nav updates come from (not FLM owner). The site asks for the VIN and ESN#.

Good Morning. My truck is a 2020 F450 Limited. I only posted because the "MYFordPass" app said an update was available for my truck.
I plugged my info for my 2017 F350 in Syncnavigation.com and it says it cost $109.00 just to download. Google maps is free. They can keep their update.

Im not sure what FLM owner stands for, but the FordPass notification should have had wording saying a map update may be available. It then directs you to the navigation update page where it asks for the VIN and ESN#. That is the update being discussed here. You mentioned entering tour VIN but said nothing about the ESN. That had me wondering if you might have been on the Sync update page rather than navigation.

Screw that. I wonder why it wasn't offered free. Like someone else posted, the options I saw were $40 to have them send a pre loaded USB or free to download.

Apologies for the abbreviation.......Ford Lincoln Mercury Owners website https://owner.ford.com/ I like the site, has some useful info on it.

Ahh, I see, been there many times. I had a feeling you were talking about the Ford owner site but the L and M threw me off. Mercury is defunct and Lincoln I believe has its own, separate owner site.
If your notification sent you to the Ford owner site it wouldn't be map update related, it would be Sync3 system update related. That site will allow you to check for Sync3 system updates but wont necessarily tell you if a map update is available for you. What I'm getting at is like you, when I would check for Sync3 system updates on the Ford owner site it said I was up to date, using the navigation site linked in this thread showed that a map update was available. I'm in a 19, your 2020 probably has the nav version 1 19 already.

I'll have to check "syncnavigation.com" when I get home. Didn't check there yet and the MY Pass app did send me a notification. Appreciate the replies ;-)

I did it yesterday, worked fine. Make sure you put the license file in the "syncmyride" folder. Mine failed the first time because I did not. Went from v1 17 to v1 19

Went to "syncnavigation.com", plugged in applicable info and the site said I was eligible for a complimentary update. Have the data on my USB drive and waiting for the opportunity to install. Thanks to all for the help.
