Well dang it.
Seems a camshaft swap in the 552 CID is not needed. Nor is moving injector and coil wires.
There is a PCM tuning software that will change the PIDs for firing orders.
So PCM will know with a 3-5/4-7 swap that 3 is on bank 1 even though it firing in the old 5 location. No O2 issues because PCM knows which bank is firing with new firing order.
Only cost $350 and it will tune the 552 to my PCM too....

I have decided to put the 400 Modified motor into the Excursion.
It just makes more sense.
1) The firing order is correct for the PCM
2) The 400 bored to .030 is 408 CID just 5 CID smaller than a V10 and with aluminum heads and intake probably 100 to 200 pounds lighter than a V10.
3) With Price Motorsports adapters EFI easier
4) Getting 14 mpg with the 400 is better than 6-8 mpg with a 552.
5) Lots of room for headers
6) sea level HP and TQ are 500 and 500 ish
7) My transmission might hold up to this power level as my Supercharged V10's transmission has had no issues to date.
8) Existing cooling system will handle this motor better than a 552 CID
9) Stock MAF will work with the 400, the 552's displacement would have required an aftermarket MAF and I like to keep things as factory as possible.
So I will start another thread later on my 400 Modified swap.
